PDF Sewing Patterns

How many of you buy and use PDF sewing patterns?  I sure do.  In fact I have more than I can count that I've bought and still haven't gotten around to sewing.  Then again I have quite a few I've bought and actually used as well.  One of my favorite things about PDF patterns is being able to print them out over and over again in different sizes.  Especially when it's a gender neutral pattern and I want to make it for all three of my kids!

A couple of months ago my two PDF Patterns were made available for purchase on Go To Patterns and I just have to say, if you're looking for sewing patterns, it really is the place to go.

There are several on there I would like to give a try once I magically have time again, maybe after baby?

I mean seriously, how cute is this whale softie?  It's not the only Toy Sewing Pattern either.

Or how about this Abbey Jacket from Shwin Designs?  I'll admit to owning more than one of her patterns...

For those of you that know my middle son Brayer, you all know how much he'd love this shirt.  He's a big fan of all collared shirts, or as he calls them "handsome shirts"  This one is also by Shwin Designs

I'm lucky enough to get to have a go at the Sweetheart Dress by luvinthemommyhood and I've got to admit I'm a little sad it will probably be too cold for Ara to wear it for a few more months.  They've got even more dresses than this one too!

And one last one I've been itching to add my to cart is the Classic Fleece Footed Pajama Pattern by Peek-A-Boo Pattern Shop.  Seriously you can never have enough sleepers can you?

Which one is your favorite?

Grow Your Own Food

I bought the boys and myself some new shirts a few weeks ago from a shop on Etsy called Linthound
The shirts are, in my opinion, awesome and my kiddos think so too thankfully.  I love how a few hours after putting the shirt on, Kaed came in from the garden to show me that massive carrot above.  Yeah, that's a carrot, not a sweet potato.  Not bad!

I was super impressed with Linthound.  Not only did they put this design, from one of their adult tees onto a kid tee for me but they made and shipped the shirts within a couple of days of me purchasing them.  They got here fast too which is always a bonus when ordering from the USA.  I've now noticed they have a new shirt I might have to add to my Christmas wishlist as well.  You know once Baby comes and I can fit into real clothes again!

I'm also a fan of their tote bag with the Grow Your Own Food on it but really how many places can I preach my backyard mentality?

Duck Hunting

We took a trip to Saskatchewan last weekend so Travis could do some duck and geese hunting.  I was a little bummed at first, knowing a shotgun is too loud to shoot when pregnant, but we went anyway and I spent time with my Sister in Law, Mother in Law, and Ara.  It was a nice relaxing weekend but the best part was how much fun the boys had.

Travis took them out a couple of times and on the first morning they came home with 6 ducks which made for some seriously excited kids.

I know I was the same way as a kid but I was still surprised to see how much the kids loved every aspect of the hunt. From going out to shoot them to processing and cleaning them, to cooking and eating them.  It made me excited for future hunts.

If hunting isn't your thing you should at least be able to appreciate how beautiful it is by Travis parents cabin!
