Another one of my favorite handmade gifts this year is this awesome growth chart my sister in law Kara made. The boys love it and looks so great hanging in their room. I can't wait for the next birthday so I can do some measuring and marking.
I sewed the fabric part. Then I drew the monkeys on my computer and printed that and the type parts out (in reverse). Then I used a transfer marker to transfer the ink off of the paper onto the fabric.
It has to be a certain kind of transfer marker because I had two brands and one didn't work... which resulted in phone calls to art stores and Kelly going to Colours for me armed with the old marker and strict instructions because the right one ran out! Oh the drama.

That's amazing! I've been looking at growth charts for a while now, trying to decide what style to make.... How did she do this one?
I believe she printed it but I'm not entirely sure. Kara??
